SACRAMENTO, CA – The victim in a fatal shooting that occurred along Meadowview Road has been identified.
According to the Sacramento County Coroner’s website, the victim fatally shot Sunday afternoon was 20-year-old James Jackson, of Sacramento.
According to police, just before 2 p.m. Sunday, two people in a vehicle near Meadowview Road and Amherst Street were shot by an unknown shooter.
A man in his 20s, later identified as Jackson, was pronounced dead at the hospital and another adult male was in the hospital with non-life threatening injuries.
Responding officers discovered the victim’s car at Meadowview Road and 22nd Street. Jackson, who was fatally wounded, was discovered inside the vehicle. Officers were notified later that a gunshot victim had been taken to a local hospital with a non-life-threatening gunshot wound.
Police believe the people responsible for the shooting were firing from another vehicle.
